I have travelled the world, exploring mountains, deserts, rolling country sides and deep wilderness, but regardless of the landscape, my art is an exploration and celebration of light. I interpret my subjects as smooth, sculpted shapes to capture light caressing, enveloping, illuminating and reflecting brilliant colours. Texture distracts from underlying beauty and so I fight to eliminate extraneous details. Oils permit subtle gradients, glowing transparency and dramatic color contrasts. Sharp edges and clean lines compete with smooth gradients of brilliant colour that merge to unify dynamic panoramas.
